This book has been on my reading list for several years, but I finally got around to reading it last winter. Shortly after which, we curled up with a bowl of popcorn and watched the film, starring Elizabeth Taylor – a woman with a wicked temper she feels no need for a man, letting her poor father know it. Shakespeare’s writings have always enthralled me and The Taming of the Shrew was one that not only captured my full attention but tickled my funny bone with humor as I followed this young feisty woman through a world of male domination and female suppression while she fought to maintain her independence.
